I'm trying to optimize my gigabit LAN using the info here: http://www.ezlan.net/Internet_Speed.html The program that they link to doesn't list any of my settings - when I open it it just says 'default' for most everything.

1. Is there another program out there to give me my settings so I can play around with them?

2. Is there anything more advanced that will help me test and compare before and after?
 
When you say "trash your internet connection" how bad is it really? Thats what I want to test out - what do I lose for internet? 10%? 5%? 50%? What do I gain for LAN?
 
It depends on other parameters of the Network, give it a try, it take 30 sec. and reboot, and under 30sec. and reboot the get it back.
