Optimal Cooling < $200

My computer is in my room and the heat is killing me. System can run anywhere from 96-120F so it makes my room pretty hot. Ideally, I think temps at around 60-70F would be good.

How can I accomplish this on a budget of $200?...

I want to, but I'm not allowed. I was thinking about watercooling, but I don't think I will get the temperatures I want...
 
All the heat will still be in your room with watercooling and if your room is hot regardless of your computer it probably wont be worth the money. It may not blow around quite as much, but it will be there. You can purchase stand alone ACs that dont need to be in a window, but I think they are less effecient and I haven't really seen them under $500 really. If anyone else has, please post.

Well, my room is pretty cool, its just the computer is heating it up. Before I made the move, it was comfortable. Now it gets fairly hot and its not evne July/August yet...
 
The problem is that the cpu will create the same amount of energy/heat regardless of how it is cooled. A more efficient cooling system will lower the temperature of the CPU by transferring away more energy/heat. Unforeuntely it will still be transferring that energy/heat into your room. You could get a floor running behind your PC to blow air toward the door I guess.

BTW: those "portable" air conditioners are way more than $500 and they need to exhaust the hot air somewhere, out a window or something... for the rich only
 
You have to get the heat out of your room if you're going to cool it down. I don't see how a floor standing AC unit would do anything. The heat would have to be expelled somewhere, and if it's in your room, it just gets recirculated. It'd be nice to give parts of your room "cool spots" but overall temps will be the same. Watercooling only takes the heat and spreads it out across the radiator (radiates heat.) A fan is probably your best bet to pull in cool air from a hallway. Walmart has a nice floorstanding column-style fan for around $30 with remote that would work well in a doorway. I'll probably be going this route sooner or later.
