Optimal Blowing?

if you have two heatsink fans...what the optimal way of blowing?

1) both fans blow on the heat sink
2) both fans blow away from the heat sink
3) the fan closest to the edge of the mb blows out while the other blows on the heatsink
4) the fan closest to the edge of the mb blows on the heatsink while the other blows out

create a vaccuum..do this by putting one fan blowing (into) though the heatsink..follow the direction of air....then put a pan to intercept air channel, and redirect it to the exhaust fan....keep in mind hot air rises(duh). it is also easier to blow out a candle then to suck one out. thus the channeled air.

but like i can't really put a fan on the side of the heat sink

hmmmm. find a way..just make sure it is in the general direction
