Hi, I recently got Logitech Optical Wireless mouse and I have a problem which I think is probably eating my batteries too! My mouse stays on after the computer is shut down. Anybody knows how to fix this problem. I am using the PS/2 and keyboard connections. I also have the Epox 8RDA+ motherboard with Athlon 2600+. Any help? Thanks!

So place it on the charger or let it sit alone.

It turns off after not being used for a bit.

Most also have a off switch on the mouse somewhere.

It did not come with a cradle, there is no off switch, and if I let it sit there when the coputer is off, it still does not shut off as I can see the red light glow.

You should get a wireless mouse that lets you recharge itself, not whatever pos you got. :D

Otherwise it sounds like you might want to call the company since it should shut off after not in use for a time.

My MX700 doesn't recharge properly on the cradle. I take the batteries out and charge them in a 1 hour charger and they last 50x longer. The MX1000 has an on off switch and lasts for months on off. I use it as my substitue when the batteries for mx700 are charging.

My Microsoft wireless optical mouse stays on all the time but it uses minimal battery. I think I only change the batteries every 6 months or so (that?s while using the pc for 8+ hours per day)

Your name is "techie" and you ask a question like this? There are a lot of mice that do not shut off when not used. That's normal. They don't take much battery power. If you're worried about it, use rechargeable batteries. Novel concept, huh?

My mouse stays on after the computer is shut down

Seems normal to me (shrugs).

But then all mine have on/off switches and most will auto shutdown if not used for a while.
