Who makes them and which is the best? I know everglide makes them but are they the best?
Are mouse skates worth getting?
Best cordless/corded optical mouse for gamers?

I just use "normal" mouse pads and they work fine. I have just a standard Logitech optical wheel mouse and it works fine also.

I agree ratpads suck for optical mice. And regular mice too but that's another thread. ;)

All anybody needs for an optical mouse is an ordinary cloth-over-foam mousepad. If anybody says you need something special they are on drugs.

I keep switching between a 3M Precise Mousing Surface and a Ratpad...the only difference I've noticed between the two is that the 3M is smaller. So I'd say get whatever the hell you want and feel comfortable with.

Why use a mousepad with an optical mouse?

Mousepads were designed to provide friction to roll a mouse ball. Optical mice don't have balls.

I use my optical mouse on a bare desktop, on my carpet, the arm of the sofa, my jeans... wherever my latpop and I happen to be.

There's absolutely no need (nor use, in my opinion) for a mousepad when using an optical mouse. The idea is silly.

well, i play a lot of fps games...and an absolute smooth flat surface is critical......i have a ratpadz w/ teflon tape on the bottom of the mouse...i just push the mouse one way and it looks like it's sliding across ice.....i need this smoothness for precision gaming and have the utmost advantage to frag the opponent....

What kind of connector does the mx700 have a usb or a ps-2? or the ps2/usb clip thing. I have the Logitech Elite Duo setup now. LOVE my keboard and i LIKE my mouse. You think an mx700 would be better for gaming?

I've had a Surface 1030 for over 3 years now.. the rubber base is all warped, but the mousepad itself is still in great shape.

Logitech MX700 is the greatest mouse I've ever owned.. was worth the $20 after MIR I spent on it! :)

usb..has ps/2 adaptor.........the mouse is quite possibly the best wireless mouse in the world (well, a bluetooth version would be really awesome too).,,...but that mouse...when i use it...my hand melts into it...it's as if it's part of me..i'm seriuos....and the battery only lasts 2 days for a reason....it doesn't care about power consumption...that means no loss of performance.....it has like so many buttons also...but the button placement is done really well....i really want one, but i'm happy w/ my explorer 3.0 mouse :)

i used to own the logitech elite duo and HATED IT...the keyboard was small, and super flimsy..i mean it looked nice and all, but i've grown into natural keyboards, the that keyboard was felt too weak for me,...it looks like it's going to break or something.......and the mouse was ok, but it performed worse than any ball mouse i've ever used...because it tries to conserve power by lowering the amount of information it takes from the mouse..resulting in a horrid mousing performance...even w/ that lowered optical reader thing, the batteries lasted barely 2 months.......i quickly replaced it w/ the black microsoft natural wirelesss desktop setup..but i never use the optical wireless mouse (batterly lasts barely 2 months)
