I've read that the CCBWE and CCB1E 0550 Steppings are mad overclockers. Are any of the other steppings (or manufacture dates) good for OCing a 165 to FX60 Levels? Are there any steppings are known to not reach Fx60 (and above) Levels, and what are the chances I'd get one if I ordered a 165 off Newegg or Monarch?

BTW when I order my CPU in a couple of months is it worth paying more for a CCBWE or CCB1E off ebay or somewhere instead of just buying a 165 off Newegg or something?

bump...anyone?

Also from what I've read in the XtremeSystems forums, their database of max OCs on various processors show that the Manchester core X2s OC higher than the Opty 165s on less voltage. For example, all of the X2s listed have at least 2.5GHz overclocked speeds, and about 4 of the 10 or so listed are at 2.6-2.8 GHz while using around 1.4V. I always had the opposite impression. Are they wrong?

The new 3800+s overclock well. I just got one and it does 2.9 Ghz. Just about any 165/3800+ will do more than 2.5 though, most do over 2.7.

I just got a opty 165 CCBWE about 2 weeks ago from tankguys. Maybe you can still get one.
