Congrats to your new system. Nice pics.

I'm lovin it I jsut got internet to work and literally when I minimize CS:S it literally takes no time at all to load down.

Just curious - what made you go with the 148 and not spend a bit more on the 165 for dual core? Did you not think its worth it? I'm in a similar position and am having trouble deciding.

Nice computer.... I think it would be better if you were useing a Intel Pentium.

i just read your later post and thought you were serious...had me scared for a moment 😛

I don't understand your GPU installation. You have a peripheral slot with the grills above the video card with the fan below it but nothing in that slot, it's a little wierd...

Very Nice.

I got a friend of mine the CMV LCD and they are very happy with it.

I also thought the Opteron 148 was the best deal for the price.

All that and no sound card? Why not?

It is still in a PCI-E slot because I have a SLI motherboard. I first tried the first PCI-E slot and nothing showed up on the monitor and I decided to try the second and boom it post.

I was going to go Opteorn 165 but at the last minet I figured hey why spend another $200 for dual-core and XP Pro when I could just get Opteron 148 and XP Home. So I decided it was a better seal and I'm glad I made that choice.

why spend money on windows. wtf? especially if you have to get home. you should have gotten win2000 pro instead of winxp home. advise: dont pay for stuff that you dont have too e.g. software.

It's called doing things the legal and proper way. Not everyone in the world is a pirate.

I also doubt he'll miss the domain features and other networking capabilities that set XP Home apart from Win2k Pro or XP Pro. He made the right choice.

EDIT: nevermind that says on your thread but you also spent alot of money on your build and still didn't get a sound cartd see I was on a budget and considering sacrificing 512MB of RAM for a soundcard I'd rather have 512MB RAM.

So just because I spent more $ then you did, I need to purchase a new sound card?

And you don't think that you could have worded your comment in a different manner? Perhaps more mature?
