Are Opteron's multiplier locked? I would assume yes because they probably don't want you messing with such settings in a "server" environment, or having reseller's mislabel something that could be used somewhere mission critical.

I bet if you do manage to unlock one it would overclock great because server chips are probably tested to work with much greater environmental tolerance and the binning is probably far more strict. Anyone figured it out yet?

A few things:

- no BIOS adjustment on Enterprise class boards
- No access to bridges. The pro's and cons of HeatSpreaders..
- No one knows what the intergrated MC will do to hamper OC'ing.

It's an Opteron Adventure (TM - /0) :D

Um, its been 5 days now.
Any news on Opteron overclocking yet?........

Did this turn out to be a silicon launch or a paper launch?

I think DBZ explained it already. The enterprise-class boards don't have OC features. It's a silicon launch (you can buy an Opteron at Newegg) but there aren't any OC'ing boards for a while. C'mon nForce3 Pro, we need your powers! :D
