Opteron 2216 Problems

i posted this over in the mobo forums but i guess there is more traffic thought the cpu forums and it is kinda cpu related.. i have 2 opteron 2216s i bought off ebay for $80 and bought a tyan s2912 mobo off newegg.. i got all the components and put the system together but it wont post.. after more research i found out that the opteron 2000 series chips have a maxium memory speed of 667mhz. and the memory i bought was kingston reg ecc memory that is 800mhz i was wondering if the memory is the reason that it wouldn't post. i went ahead and bought some reg ecc 667mhz memory fron newegg but i am amazed at the fact that it would simply down clock the ram from 800 to 667.. does anyone have any thoughs on this???

thanks asusguy but the ram i got is registred ecc memory the type the opterons require...
i just think that it is the speed of the memory that the opterons memory controller can't down clock from 800 to 667 is why it won't boot but im not 100% sure...

thanks asusguy i ordered some reg ecc ddr2-667 memory on new egg earlier today just in case i am having it overnight ed to me so hopefully i get it tomorrow but chances are i will have to wait till Monday.. i just hope that is the problem..
