Opteron 170 KILLS in the Dhrystone benchmarks

Here's where AMD apparently has a clear advantage over Intel. My Opteron 170@240FSB scores ALU 23689 MIPS.

That's better than a Pentium 4-XE (22667 MIPS) or Athlon 64 X2 4800+ (23520 MIPS).

So if you are doing something that relies heavily on computation it seems that dual Opterons are the best way to go.

In the multimedia tests in Sandra, the 4-XE is still tops overall, but the Opteron still ranks right up there in the top 4.

LOL who cares about Sandra? Or any other synthetic for that matter? go look at the thousand or so reviews out there which show what a dog intel duals are in real live efforts people actually use. This is'nt exactly news.. while back I had an excel file linked up with various sites graphs where XE only won 5% of benchmarks to 4800.

Im not too familiar with dhry whet tests. You sure that the beefed up FSB isn't what gave you the edge especially over the 4800+ (same clock right)?

Why can't people make tables that are legible. lines, coloring, etc. very simple stuff.

LOL That's my site, , my file.. all the rformatting got lost when converted to HTML since no one could open my open office spread sheet which was nice and neat.
