the guy sounds like an idiot

he links to two threads about 'failing 0551 VPMW', one of them is gone, and the other has a core that 'fails at 2.7ghz'

i could be wrong.. but how could there be a week 56 cpu when there's only 52 weeks in a year?

edit: if you look at his stepping, it's clearly week 51

the fact that he said that the core failed prime at 1.8 (stock) is hard to believe.... might be defective?

I agree it is probably a windows driver or BIOS thing. sounds like an updated BIOS and fresh install are in order.

The guy doesn't sound too bright.

Its possible he is using superpi in 1 directory, and running 2 instances, and one of the superpi instances is overwriting the 2nd superpis verify data. I've had that happen, and it took me a good half hour to figure out why it was failing.
