I've searched all over the board and haven't found anything that seems to talk about this at all. I just installed an opteron 165 to in my system with a Thermaltake Bigwater system and a Neo2 Platinum motherboard. I'm aware that programs that tell you the temp aren't the most accurate but the one I used was always within a degree or two of my motherboard bios so take it as being fairly accurate. Everyone seems to be in the 30 C range with these at idle and I'm currently sitting and roughly 44 C at idle. I've tried remounting the water block and reapplying arctic silver 5. Is it just the Bigwater system can't cool a dual core or is my sensor messed up with it being a dual core or is it something else? Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Your sensor is messed up... So it seems... With a k8n neo2 in my rig, it said my idle was 42 and my load was like 60... But with a dfi ultra-d mobo, it idles at 34 loads at 45.

Will do. I don't really plan on taking of the IHS....not sure if it would be really worth the risk of it. Hope it's not the IHS since I got the stepping I wanted, 0550, and plan on ocing it.

My 165 0606VPMW seems to run a little hot no matter what I do. Idles at 36C, full load it hits 60C after a couple hours. Heatsink it not hot, so I'm hoping its the sensors on my A8N-E. OC'd to 2.6Ghz.
