i want to run my opty at 2.6 gigahertz at 1.4 volts. it works but my computer quickly overheats. currently i have a thermalright or thermaltake? 120 mm water cooing for it but its not doing the job.

what is the absolute best air cooler? i want it to be very cool but nothing like a tornado. the zalman 9500 and scythe's look good. any ideas anyone? I am willing for some noise but not excessive. I want to get about 45C at load for 2.6 gigahertz.

the room temp is 75 F. right now its at 2.0 gigahertz 44 C and 40 C for the chipset. running a game sends the temps for both to 51 C.

i have a artic silencer 1 on my ati card, x800xt. i also have 1 80mm intake on the side, 1 80 mm intake on the top, 1 120 mm intake on the front, the water cooling 120mm outtake on the back, plus the 2 power supply fans (enermax eg495axve)

50c is okay for processors. I'm not sure about your chipset, however. Chances are its fine though. (You might wanna mention what board your using ;) )

running on a asrock dualsata2 (with the agp slot) :)

50C for a 2.0 clockspeed is not good. not when i wanna do 2.6.

well your mobo may be a problem. that isn't the best OC board.

I'm at around 42C at Load and I'm at 2.5Ghz

I think the best one is currently the Tuniq Tower. Any of the top three or four are safe bets (that one and the SI-120, Big Typhoon and Ninja). I got a BT for my 165 (since the Tuniq Tower doesn't fit on DFI boards) and get around 46C maximum load with 2.85ghz at 1.425V.

Although I would think that your water system should be better than any of these.

51C load is not anywhere close to overheating.

However, the Zalman 9500, or TT BT would lower those temps.
