For those of you with the CCBWE 0541RPMW stepping, here are my results from a weekend of testing:
CPU: Opteron 165
Stepping: CCBWE 0541RPMW
Overclocked speed: 2520mhz
CPU voltage: 1.42v
Idle temp: 31°C
Load temp: 46°C
Cooling: Thermalright XP-120 w/Panaflo 120mm 68CFM
Motherboard: DFI NF4 Ultra-D
Ram: OCZ EL Platinum Rev.2
Ram size: 2x512mb Dual Channel
Ram timings: 2-3-2-5
Ram divider: 5/6
Ram voltage: 2.6v
I do very little gaming (NHL2006 & F1 Challenge '99-'02) but I am getting into a lot of video encoding of MPEG2 HD Transport Streams that I've recorded via satellite and converting them to WMV-HD files (Windows Media 9) to save space on my 500GB movie LAN server.
I have not noticed any kind of slowdown while encoding and doing other little WinXP stuff like internet browsing, working on spreadsheets or watching satellite TV. Would adding another 1GB of OCZ Platinum Rev.2 optimize my system, or is it just overkill?
Thanks to those who reply
BTW, this is my 1st O'C with AMD and I am loving it!!!!!
