Hmm... do you think just open-air testbed is enough for 2.6GHz @stock vcore? I'm not sure... I've seen lots of more exotic coolings from XS (like.. 4857239 fans and water chiller, etc.) but not many results like this. My main point on this stepping is temp, actually. I have a 165 0547TPMW, and while it did great (2.8GHz @1.424V) temps hovered around 45~50C. PWMIC temps were even higher.

No doubt the chip has some serious potential :D
If the ambient is as low as 15C, this will drastically improve heat dissipation by a cooler the size if the XP120. If the cooler had to fight against in-case temps of 30C when heated up also CPU-temps would be up by 15C...
Open-Air is such a different story, same as side panel open vs. closed ;)

lopri...I am so amazed at the awesome chips you have been getting

I am not sure if the noncase is helping alot or not but 2.6 at default on this 165 seems great

I heard and maybe wrong but this is the FX60 stepping so it maybe these are binned FX60 chips to lower multiplier because they are getting so good yields????

anyway congrats

My main point on this stepping is temp, actually. I have a 165 0547TPMW, and while it did great (2.8GHz @1.424V) temps hovered around 45~50C. PWMIC temps were even higher

The other day I was priming by opty 170@2.7 with SI 120/nexus fan and no fan over PWMIC, in P180

I took off the side panel and found while cpu temp dropped abit my PWMIC temp went up, which indicated there was no air movt around PWMIC with my case panel off..temps went up 2C in just 1min
CPU load 2.7ghz@1.5v was 47/49..PWMIC was 59C on DFI SLI DR bios 623-2

SO I am not surprised by the higher temps if there is no airflow over PWMIC but I have had stable 15hr dual Prime 95 with PWMIC at 64C

This chip seems to be an FX-60 which failed validation.

Core 1 does 3.0GHz @<1.5V without a hitch (!) but core 0 is somewhat unstable even @2.75GHz. I really need to test this chip more. My usual OC'ing begins with max clock @stock vcore and that's all I've done so far (somewhat throroughly, that is) Once I find some time, I will report back with max stable clock @reasonable vcore (i.e. 1.5V)
