I think I must have done this, because as soon as I placed my order for 2, 30 seconds later the price dropped by $30 each, then changed to limited quantities. Anyways w0ot for some peeps who are able to get one still. I think this is a decent deal considering they go for $350 on ebay and most other sites are sold out and severly back ordered. Thought id post it for my AT brothers. These overclock to like 2.4-2.7ghz and are also dual-core. Nice little discount for a personal christmas gift maybe? 😉

Anyways, this will probably be sold out soon with all the rest of the sites. $270.63 with like $7.70 for shipping, so $278.33 shipped.

No OP it was not you who drove the price down..last week no OEM processor..so I buy the retail 165...next OEM processor..$315...day or 2 later ...$300....now 1 week later....$280

Crap..I have no luck buying this stuff...I knew when i bought the price gouging was going to stop since AMD came out and said they were no going to discontinue these processors....

Once I buy prices always drop.....I could have save $70 waiting 1 week 🙁...so glad money grows on tree:disgust:

what part of the game is that! Does monarch charge restocking fee? cause i'm returning and reordering, 60 bucks!

All the steppings are E6 as far as I know...There are good and bad steppings, but it really doesnt matter. Do you really care about steppings at that price? 😛
 
I ordered the 165 from Monarch last week for 315!!! Stepping is 0546 MPWM

price dropped way too much in such short period of time, and Monarch is not going to price adjust (already emailed to ask), I am going to RMA, already reorded at 270.

ok..your luck is worse..did you call them and get the price adjusted..if not I hope you cancelled and reordered....they should auto adjust that
 
Yah, seriously. Should re-adjust price or cancel your order and then re-order...not that hard, especially since you just ordered it 30 seconds before (they hadn't processed or shipped your order yet).
 
I did. Dont worry. 🙂 I now have 2 pending charges of $600 or so dollars on my CC lol. Of course 1 will be canceled. 😛 I would have ordered more than 2 cpus, but im trying not to be greedy and also monarch only allows 2 per person, which seemed a bit odd. Maybe its a special holiday price.
 
Very good deal. If I didn't already have a 2.9-3ghz 146 I'd be buying this. But frankly, the $125-150 I'd lose in the upgrade and likely worse performance in most apps isn't worth the few instances where dual core would help me. Great deal for those looking to get a dual core though.
