Damnit! My buddy and I ordered two from Excaliberpc two days after you did and we got CAB2E steppings. Right now my 146 is sitting at 2.7GHz at stock voltage and I can boot and run Windows at 3GHz, but it's not prime stable.

It appears that's what AMD was primarily shipping. We got 40 today, 4 were CABYE, all the other 36 were CAB2E. I wouldn't be too concerned though, they still OC well and still beat the CABGEs 🙂

Oh for the days of the Celeron 300As when a 50% overclock was all but guaranteed. Back in the days when Anand first started posting about his sleepless nights and having to study for his HAP high school classes.

 
I send an email to tankguyz, is it in stock, and is it CAB2E 0540FPMW I would buy one if you have that stepping.

It's sitting in my MSI NEO2 Plat. now at 2850mhz and 1.36 volts on the chip. Folding under full load at 113F. Awesome OC'er ..and its not even burned-in yet.

 
............... 🙁 I got a CAB2E, or its about to be shipped at least... still better than a CABGE so I shouldn't complain, wish it was a CABYE though, haha.
 
Some of the CAB2E's go over 3Ghz I believe, so don't frown until you've tested yours out =) (and confirmed that it does indeed suck, then you may frown)
 
My CAB2E is stuck at 2.7GHz @ 1.4v. 🙁 I really wanted 2.8 or better. I can boot and operate Windows at 3GHz. Does that mean I still have some hope?

Yea, unfortunately it's gone now. We completely sold out of our last batch, and we are most likely not getting anymore. I'm trying to secure a few from some sources, but no luck so far. The only Opty I have right now is the 165, and and I may get some 170's if enough people are interested. Other than that, no 144/146's coming that I know of. I've had 40+ on order with multiple distributors for over a month, and not one has shipped 🙁 They are well neigh impossible to find right now.

Just received my 146 from TankGuys (thanks for fast service), and I'm almost afraid to say how good it is so far. I can see why they are NLA. I want more!!!

With mATX Jetway A210GDMS Pro Radeon Express 200 (onboard ATi x300 graphics), and hard drive with old socket A NF2 system installed, was able to hit 3009MHz on stock HSF at 1.45v, and fully boot into WinXP Pro SP2 (did not Prime95 or install any of the three drivers XP wanted). Everest at home confirmed 3009MHz. Can not cold boot at that speed, but it does show potential if used with the right motherboard.
