Oi... Decisions. I'm looking at the Asrock 939 board, so no crazy overclocking, but I don't know if it's worth the extra few bucks to get the 148 over the 146. I can get the 146 for about $197 Canadian (insane), versus $280 CDN for the 148. What would (any of) you do? I'm so Opteron'd out, having discovered and researched this option over the past 2 days...

Is the extra 1x multiplier worth $100 for you? My feeling is no, but it's your decision![]()

got my CABYE 0540 FPBW from tankguys and have done just a little testing. right now it's at 2906mhz at 1.45v, OCCT stable running 32m pi right now. temps at load get up to 57 C which is way to hot for my liking. i guess my zalman 7000alcu is showing its age. at 1.45v i am able to clock it up to 3000mhz but it is not stable. i did a quick suicide attempt and upped the voltage to 1.58v and 3200mhz but didnt run any benchmarks since i know it will go over 60 C but his chip has potential once i can cool it better.

So when I'm ordering my 148, CABYE 0540 is the one I should be asking for, if possible? The CABNE ones were the original FX stepping ones that aren't available anymore, correct? Trying to get this stepping straightened out in my head...
Thx

So, we can ask for a specific stepping when ordering from you TankGuys?

No, unfortunately not. I say this for two reasons: first off, we can't order specific steppings either. Second, it's hard enough keeping track of all the orders as it is, let alone matching orders to steppings... plus, how would we price that? Should we charge more for stepping XXXX than YYYYY? It's just too confusing
That said, we do typically notify you what stepping you're getting once we finalize the shipment. That way you've either got 3-4 days to celebrate or cry before it arrives![]()
