They're lock upwards, you can only go lower.

Dude, did you actually read the review? It's from September 2003, when each chip cost $669.

I ordered Opteron 165 Dual core 1.8ghz with 1mb cache x 2 percore. I could not wait any long for Opteron 146, and if you compare prices i got $150 Per core with same 1mb cache per core.

This will take care of me for another 2 years at least.

Wish you good luck to the rest you can wait longer. 🙂

We got 10 today as well (early!), going to our first 10 PAID pre-orders.

Steppings on all of them were CAB2E. I don't know what the next batch will be though.

Opteron 144 Customers:



Just in case we had not notified you yet, all 144 orders will be shipping on Tuesday, November 8th. Most likely all CAB2E steppings, but this is not 100% certain.



Opteron 146 Customers:



Opteron 146?s will start to arrive in our warehouses, in small batches, starting 11/8. Shipping to you will begin on the 9th, and continue throughout the next week and a half or so, depending on how quickly we receive them, and in what quantities. So far, we have 4 arriving on the 8th, and 20 or so arriving on the 9th, with more to follow thereafter. We wanted to let you know they are starting to trickle in, and you will each be notified once a processor is shipping to you. We don?t have stepping information yet since they haven?t arrived, unfortunately!

FYI: We've still got more too. We *should* be getting the rest of ours by the end of the week, and shipping out 14th-16th of November (Mon-Wed). Assuming all arrive when they are supposed to, I've still got a few 146's available, same stepping.

I also have 5 144's right now, CAB2E 0540 steppings, ready to ship whenever 🙂

EDIT: I also had to raise my 146 price by $5, as my latest batch cost me $8 more to get, so my appologies 🙁

I'm going to be watching this thread closely. TankGuy, please keep us updated on stepping and when you expect to be done filling your preorders. I am ready to drop the cash on this but I can't afford to get a CABGE poor OC stepping. I already got stuck with a crappy CBBID Winnie. I've got a DFI SLI-DR just itching for a CPU that can actually OC. The minute I hear you have stock and it's CABYE or something else good I am in!
