I have had the privilege of testing a bunch of opterons these last 2 weeks.

I have 2 146's 0540FP()W.

1st one.
CABYE 0540FPMW

6+ hours prime small FFT stable (Corporate Thug is now the owner of this chip)

2nd one.
CABYE 0540FPAW

2+ hours prime small FFT testing at the moment

I have yet to see a CABYE 0540FP()W () = A,B,W chip not do more than 2.9 ghz.

I was hoping for a FPBW as these seem to consistently get to 3 ghz with less than or around 1.5 volts.

As for those that use large FFT prime for stability, I have stopped using it as I have found that chips can run large fft prime at 3.0 ghz (6+ hours) but will error in small fft in less than 4 seconds. That is the reasoning behind why I use small FFT.

hmmm, anxiously waiting to get it in my hands! precious opteron

btw, great work for testing so many chips. :thumbsup:

just to clarify: small FFTs are better for stress testing than mixed or large?

thanks. good to have pjay's support.

someone said i was dumb for using small fft and not large.

well i've used both now and large fft is not reliable for testing pure cpu speed stability.
