Which CPU should I get? I'm leaning towards the Opt 146. I plan on overclocking it.

Opt 146, or the 144. both seem to be about the same, and look like a case of 3200+ or 3000+.

Like he said, cant go wrong with an opty 144 or 146. San diego is good as well. Theres a guy with a nice opty 144 that does 2.7ghz on stock voltage in the fs/t forum for $150. Thats a decent price.

Id go with whatever you find the cheapest.

Agreed with the above, depending on your motherboard's ability to OC and increase the HT speed, should dictate whether you should go with either the 146 or 144.

What motherboard are you using, or will you be using?

Theres also a guy selling a 146 with CAB2E steppings that does 3ghz on 1.55V on FS/FT

That's sweet, but I have to wait until mid-June :( BTW, I will be slapping this CPU on a DFI Ultra-D. I've got a 3200 Venice on a Asrock right now, but that is going to the wife for her upgrade :)

Recent 3700+ seems just as good as Opterons. I'd say flip a coin. Also I'd take 146 over 144 since it's only 20~30 bucks difference and quite a few times I experienced frustration with 144s thanks to the x9 multiplier. Sans the DFI NF4 series, most boards have only 3~4 dividers. (100/133/166/200, and the new 233/250 but those are pretty much useless unless you got a memory that does 300MHz+ with decent timings)
