oprah to end show in 2011... will chicago need a stimulus plan to counterbalance?

It seems a mildly interesting topic to me...

the show must
1) be a large enterprise
2) employ many people
3) pay a bunch of taxes
4) have flow through to a lot of other businesses...

Soooo...

1) should community organizers visit oprah to make her stay on the air?
2) will there be a 'displaced oprah employee redeployment act'?
3) seems a pretty evil thing for a liberal to do, closing a business that many get their livelyhood from...
4) does she have a succession plan? what are all her watchers going do now?
5) will she be blamed when literacy drops because people stop reading without her recommendations?
 
The government really does need to step in and prevent her from going off the air. We're going to need all the rich folks we can tax to fund this turnaround.

Maybe she figures we'll have turned the corner and we'll all be on easy street by then? It's unconscionable that she'd turn her back on all of us.

Oprah was proported to have said "why would anyone stay in Chicago".

She is right.

Chicago, specifically Mayor Daley is selling everything to 3rd party companies which in turn are quadrupling prices or more.

They are working hard on making it another Detroit.
