Okay so this past week I have been in the kitchen around the time Oprah has been on and my mom's been watching it, and it's seriously like the most God-awful excuse for a tv-show that I've ever seen. It's so incredibly cheesy and they applaud for the stupidest things. Does anyone else feel like this or am I just too much of a guy to figure out why/how it's such an awesome show?

Note: This has only to do with the show, not with Oprah herself. I think she's done some good stuff for people.
 
Women worship Oprah like she's a god. Have you seen how crazy the crowd goes when she has one of those "Oprah's Favorite Things" episodes? Goodness!!!!

And what's up with Oprah lately?? I think she's actually under 175 lbs:Q

That's what I was thinking of. They applaud like fvcking crazy when the show starts and they yell and cheer when she just says some normal thing. How did she get put onto such a pedestal?

Yeah, what he said! It's insane how people follow this woman. I do think she's done a lot of good, and is actually a good person. But her show is uber-cheezy.

The reason people go crazy with Oprah's Favorite Thing episodes is because everyone in the audience gets one of each of her favorite things. That's like going into a show and walking out with an easy $5000 worth of goods.

Have you watched them at all this week? Are they all like this? I just think it's so cheesy and stupid that women can find confidence from stuff like this. It's just soooo... I can't think of a word. I guess scriptedly dramatic?

i couldn't care less why some people like the show... i think oprah is a good person from what i've seen, but the show.... never seen a full episode in my entire life.

I'm not a fan of her show (I don't watch much tv in general anyways) but I can tell you that women like Oprah because she's been thru some of the same struggles we have, her upbringing wasn't easy, she struggles with her weight and openly talks about it... plus, she displays real joy in the life she has and shows gratitude for all her success.She's a real person and that comes across on the screen.
 
i'll like her if she gives me one of the G6... people were complaining about having a crappy car.... I DON'T HAVE A DAMN CAR!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Oprah, Dr. Phil, Jane Pauley, Larry Elder, and Montel can all blow me. The only talk shows worth watching are Springer and Conan.
 
Oprah used to be cool... about a dozen years ago.. then she woke up one day and decided that she was gonna be the new USA saviour!
