cliff notes:
-oprah shows up at "luxury" store after they close, gets turned away like most other people would
-oprah feels this is a crash moment (where a party feels discriminated against on the basis of skin color)
-oprah will discuss this on her tv show
-new york post gossip section claims the store was "having a problem with North Africans lately."

Maybe Oprah should film some of us ATOTer trying to get into stores after they are closed. Then we can all get turned away one at a time, and she can talk about that on the air too and claim prejudice...

Wah. Poor little Oprah. She didn't get special treatment, and now she's going to abuse her power over her brainwashed homewife audience to badmouth the store.

Dont get me wrong, I'm no racist, but it really pisses me of when minorities pull sht like this. Obviously, there are still some areas of the world that discriminate against minorities, but I believe the race card is way too overplayed.

don't fvck with oprah, she can screw with your sh1t. she has a legion of stupid women that will do whatever she says

It is sad that even prominent Blacks can't seem to stop pulling the race card regardless of the situation. The Black community just can't stop holding itself back can it? It is truly sad.

I bet she'd buy me something. She buys everyone something.

Oprah, if you're reading this, buy me something you rich black woman you!

her legions and legions and legions of fans. she's got so much power it's ridiculous.

but back on topic, i'm not sure how much of this is racially motivated. it sounds like the store was closed for a "public relations event" when she stopped by to try and shop there. doesn't sound racist to me. :thumbsdowns;

Yep, now these women are going to lead a boycott against Hermes, when they couldn't even afford to shop there in the first place.

celebrities like her sometimes cannot go into a store during regular hours. Some stores have been known to close when celebrities come in there to shop to shut out the "adoring public". Therefore I don't find it strange that she will want to go shopping when it is closed.

Besides, have we not elevated celebrities to demi-gods who can do anything they want?

Come again when you are famous and noticed everywhere you go

however, she tried to come when there was some sort of PR event being prepared for. sounds like the store had a legit reason to turn her away. doesn't sound like racism.

They need to call in advance and make arrangements...

showing up 15 minutes after closing and expecting to shop is just rude & arrogent.

The store probably had all tills counted and put away.

True...'cept for the whole "Oprah's richer than God" thing...she was trying to buy a purse for a friend she was eating lunch with...the purses from that store cost 5k each, and Oprah has bought 6 in the past year. Y'think she would get some special treatment for that, hmm?

Their "people" call in advance.

This is really stupid.
