Oppo makes a great player at a great price. I'm sure this player is no exception.
It does interest me, though, why someone would pay more for a 1080p display (when there is virtually no source material in 1080p), but would not be buying an HD-DVD or Blu-Ray player? To me, that seems to be conflicting priorities. Buying a 1080p display now, before there is any significant content in 1080p, says you're willing to pay a premium for the best picture. But then buying a standard DVD player seems to say you're not willing to pay for a clearly superior, readily available HD player because you're either waiting for the "bugs" to be worked out or for one format to win.
Odd. At least to me, it's odd.
