Opnion Question (laptop video cards)

Ok, I bought a dell Inspiron 8100 laptop about a week ago, I configured it to have a 15" Ultra XGA screen p3 1.0GHz. I picked the GeForce2GO video card, later on I found out how much better the ATI was. Keeping in mind I am thinking *gameing* wise (not worried about power consumtion, CPU usage on DVD's, etc...) I want to know if I should go through all the trouble of sending it back to Dell for them to switch the video card out for the mobile radeon 7500. Also, about how long would the Geforce2go last compaired to the ATI mobile Radeon 7500? (i.e. how long before a game will come out that I will be unable to play on this laptop) Keep in mind that I like to play games in 1024x768 OR 800x600 I hardly ever go over 1024x768. I am interested in hearing from people who have these chipsets. Thanks

It says the card is not compatible with some 14" and 15" screens on the Dell site (when you choose the videocard).

But other than that, it seems much faster, and you can get the 64-MB version. I would definitely do it, unless they have a $50+ restocking fee. But why do you want a gaming laptop? For half as much money you can build a system twice as fast 🙂

Yes I saw that and I picked the screen that it can use but I got a Geforce2go instead of the Radeon (I must have just overlooked it when I ordered). Reason I want a gameing laptop: portability! (duh hehe) Its hard to move a whole comp when I go to lan parties, and yes it is cheeper to build a desktop.

Also, I wouldn't be sending it back for a refund they said that they will switch the video card out for no charge (other then the extra money the video card itself costs) I just consider it a big hassel and wanted to know if its worth the trouble.
