Hi All,

After alot of reading and reviews I have finally (I hope!) finished my spec for my new machine.

Am seeking and suggestions/tweaks/opinions on the bleow mentioned machine.
I am mainly going for a gaming machine.

AMD 3500+ (winchester)
DFI Lanparty NF4 Ultra D
1024mb (512x2) Corsair Value Select DDR
eVGA 6800 GT 256mb pcie
Antec Neo Power 480W PSU
Antec Super Lanboy case
Thermalright XP-120 with Panflo 120mm fan

How does that sound?
Do you think this case is too small ?
Do you think i should save my money and get a 3200 and try and overclock?
Also what about a Zalman 7700Cu instead ?

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks.

Looks nice, though I'm a fan of Antec's SLK3000 case. Not super stylish but great airflow, easy to make quiet, nice mounting system for the hard drives.

I don't OC myself since then you never know if it's what is causing a program crash, corrupted file, etc.

I'd probably just get a Zalman CNPS7000B-ALCU since it's light and cools well, but I've heard good things about the Thermalright too. I'd only be running at stock speed though.

Most parts seems good, except for the Antec Super Lanboy case, which I heard is a little cramped, causing a possibly hot system, even with two 12 cm fans operating in it.

Looks like a prettty good setup with the exception of the RAM choice...you selected some very decent hardware right up to but not including the "Value" RAM. That RAM would be just fine if you were putting together a socket 754 (single channel) rig. But...in this application nope!!!...pay the extra and go to at least the "Extreme" line of Corsair memory (that is if you are hard over on Corsair)...other wise one of the other High Performance lines such as OCZ.

Corsair Value RAM works just fine in dual channel mode, and unless he's looking to really overclock his RAM to the highest possible frequency, this RAM will probably deliver the best price to performance ratio.

Well, in that case any compatible RAM, unless you want to really overclock your system, then you can choose i.e. the OCZ VX RAM or the Corsair XMS4404v1.1

Hey thanks all for your help.

Thanks again ribbon for your input. I was thinking about the TwinMos as well.

I thought the case was a little small, so thanks Promethply for the input.

Will now look at pricing the new specs...

Cheers.
