Opinions on upgrade

I currently have an ATI X1800XT w/512mb and am looking to upgrade. I've been away from looking at the newer cards/prices for a while so what would be a decent up grade from my current card? My system is currently AMD AX2 4600+, system ram is 2gb. Like to keep the price $200 or less. Any suggestions. Thanks.

Consider about ATI 4850, you can buy from newegg.

Asus 9800GTX+ $160AR

There are some deals on the GTX 260 that put it around $200AR, check the Hot Deals forum for details. You could also consider getting a card from eBay with the Microsoft cashback program, I just got the GTX 260 in my gaming rig for $168 shipped that way.

EDIT: Make sure your PSU can handle the load of a more powerful GPU, especially the 9800GTX.

Sapphire HD4850 is only $139.00 AR and it will be more than 230% faster than your current card:

X1800XT with 512MB scores 1287.5 "points"

HD4850 with 512MB scores 2965.6 "points"

You could bring your Cost of Upgrade (COU) down to $100.00 or so by selling your current card for $30.00~$40.00

Apply the rest of funds toward some extra RAM if you can.
Do not get anything more expensive than that, cause of the CPU. You can not upgrade the CPU to anything better- i think that the one that you currently have is the max for s939.

Thanks for the help guys. Looks like video cards have come down quite a bit in cost. I paid $250 for my current card used a while back. My current CPU/Mobo combo is at the end as far as upgrades go. I will have to replace those parts as well as memory when I do a complete system upgrade later.
