I don't want to be a snob, but, well - you asked!
Chase-Durers are made fun of by real watch enthusiasts. Anyone who knows watches would take a Seiko chronograph, for a tenth of the price, over a C-D. This watch takes a $10 quartz movement, puts it in a very ordinary case with mineral crystal (unforgivable at this price point), and sells it for at least 5 times what it's worth.
You can actually get a Hamilton chronograph with a Swiss Valjoux automatic movement, on a nice heavy bracelet, with sapphire crystal, for considerably less than this with a little shopping around. That is a watch that will retain most of its value and be an object of pride, rather than mockery.
