I dunno, temporal episodes get sooo boring after a while. I'd like to see something around the Voyager era, as the ships, weapons, clothes etc all look a hell of a lot better than Enterprise, TNG, DS9 et al.

They haven't really got space to go backwards again, so maybe something at the same time as DS9 or Voyager would be good. Heck, I'd love to see a "post-Voyager's-return" series.

They need to pickup 5 years after DS9. Cardassia has no option but to apply to join the Federation as the war has all but destroyed their civilization, billions dead.

The Romulans should be the main aggressors of the series. No one knows how strong they really are. They could have masses of troops and ships that the Fed doesn't know about.

I think the first season would be best for fleshing out what happened after the war, the rebuilding and it's a great chance to introduce a new, young crew of a starship, since so many people are dead and Starfleet will need to make lots of ships to make up for their losses and crew them quickly. This would allow for a younger captain, ala Kirk, which could lead to more hand to hand fighting, More sex, and the chance to capture a younger audience to boost ratings.

Star Fleet Academy type show

That's the best idea I've seen in this thread yet. I would watch that.

Or how about a comedy with the cast of TNG as babies, like Muppet Babies? It would be all the same characters, except they'd be 3 years old and wearing diapers.

From Vulcan's perspective would be interesting. Of course it would require another hot extra to go through Pon Far every episode.

Or move it outside the federation -- Ferrengi perspective perhaps would add lots of comedy. Or Orion slave trader's.

It needs to be a show about half naked alien chicks with large boobies.

DS69! A favorite stop off for many races at the edge of known space!! Popular for bbeing a Station of Ill Repute!

the Borg have now become members of the federation but the federation encounter a new race called the wraith (sp) in the course of fighting them they discover a stargate and meet the residents of Stargate Atlantis whom they rescue and return to earth. However in doing so they reveal earths location to the wraith. And so ensues the battle.

All the different Star Treks don't even come close to what Firefly was. 🙁

I dunno but I never seen firefly. I dont think it will beat out DS9. I mean firefly didn't last more than a season. So...😛

Ha, you comment, but not know. Watch it. Did ds9 win any emmy's? Didnt' think so. Oh yea blame Fox for it not lasting.

An arc covering Guinan's race might be interesting. There would be quite a few races and exploration/war/ etc that a race of listeners could relate the stories of. . .

Plus this could tie in with some of the Voyager races that they met.

Isn't that kinda how the Borg found out about the Federation?

Dunno what it should have, but I do know what it doesn't need:

Berman and Braga
Time Travel
Janeway
The Borg

I'am a huge fan of Startrek. DS9 the most. It's too bad they took out Enterprise kinda quick even though it wasn't the greatest. Well I read in the paper just before they were going to end the Enterprise series that it will be about couple of years or so before they come out with a new one. I think it's a very good idea because they need to really do something different. I dunno maybe take some ideas, or bring in some writers for BSG. I mean hell they have it all, drama, action, the acting and especailly a good story. Now of course not every episode is the greatest but still. So what do you guys think Startrek writer's need to do inorder to make it mainstream again? Any Idea's? Let me hear it.

Don't get me wrong, i LOVE BSG, but i don't want Star Trek to turn into something like that. I like the independent stories of Star Trek. I like just turning to a Trek episode, and just enjoying it, without needing to understand every other episode before that. It's the reason why i didn't like DS9 or Enterprise, eventually you needed to understand the entire plot to appreciate the episode.

I like the idea of following another race of people around. I think that a show featuring Vulcans could be really interesting. It could have other races in it too, including a few humans.

I like having some kind of overall theme to the plot, and an eventual goal, but I felt like DS9 got too cheesy at the end, and seemed like a soap opera.

i think that one of the neatest things of DS9 was the long 6-7 arch story lines near the end.

Make star trek more like west wing - every episode really has some impact on the next, etc.

DS9 was the only Trek that I found to be just as entertaining as Firefly.

I c what your saying, but your not a hardcore fan like some of us. I mean they need to do something. Startrek has been falling behind and look where it's got them. Better story, something a little more a central story line, war, action, drama, action some of the main characters dying, action. If it doesnt' have that then it will fail again. And if that happens we shall forget about Startrek forever.

Another race? No, it will fail. I mean It won't get enough ratings. Like I said and will keep saying we need better story, more central storyline, action, drama, action.
Everyone that keeps saying how about another race point of view, about the vulcans ect, it won't cut because to none sci-fi fans it will be way too cheesy.

What do you people mean "we're all sick of the borg" ?!? The borg kick ass, i liked every episode of voyager that had the borg in it, i wanna know what happened after endgame in voyager, are they even still functional? Where do the queens come from? Why did they start? Who started them? Whats with the 3d shapes they use for ships? Wheres the "hive mind"? What race were they originally? Im totally not sick of the borg, i wanna see more of them.
