If you think its great now, imagine how it looked back in '82. I had my Technology professor watch it then and he was blown away...he planned to use it in one of his classes.
Its not a cyberpunk movie at all, though its often portrayed that way. The story its based on asks some very deep (for a "sci-fi" movie) questions, which we as a society have yet to answer...like what is the line between human and not, and do we have the right to create life, and for what purpose? The soundtrack by Vangelis was entirely suitable I thought. It still stands out as a great film that spawned many copies, as well as pretty much defining a style.
If you think its boring, you must have ADD or something...this is a much better film than average, especially in the so-called science fiction genre, which is loaded with pure crap, like Star Wars and Star Trek.
