I am thinking about getting the PC Chips 930LR mobo with a P4-2.4 and some DDR2700 ram. Do you have any opinions on PC Chips Mobos, and the SiS645 & SiS961 chipsets?

My primary concern is STABILITY.

Thanks!

Read a thread of mine to give you an idea what might happen with this board/chipset. One wrong BIOS setting ad this thing goes in a downward spiral stability-wise. Heck, it doesn't even power on/reboot each time.

As for stability with correct settings - it's respectable. Once it gets past POST, it can work for say a week w/o a single hang/glitch (haven't tried longer yet).

Another wierd problem - when I set SDRAM to 100/133 it would auto reset to 100/100 sometimes, and would also lower the CPU clock to say like 800 or 1113 Mhz. That's just hilarious. You need to reboot to go full speed again.

PC-Chips M930 is ECS P4S5A/DX. Maybe you read some opinions on the latter one - it's the exact same product.
