I'm making some business cards for my photography business which I am starting. I have the layout down that I want (pretty sure) and the way I have it I like. However I'm trying to decide between 4 different fonts for the word "photography" on the card.

Also...there will be some trimming after print so the text will be a little closer to the edge of the actual card.

I'm also trying to think of what would be a good back for the card.

Anyway please post your opinions...the cards are numbered on this website I threw up:

Text

Vote for the number you like best and please also let me know if you like the design overall.

The fonts are (for those who asked):

#1 - Rage Italic LET

#2 - Zamyatin

#3 - Marydale

#4 - Eras Bk BT

Seriously, I like the font used for the word "photograph" in #1 :)

That's the one I favor myself. And yeah...that is my last name :p And yeah...I've heard all of the jokes in the book and actually some of my friends call my Stiffler :p

I have one guy who says I should open a gallery and call it The Stiff Collection

1 is prettiest but 4 is the one most people will read quickest without problems. I prefer straight and to the point

Keep in mind, though, no one is going to go ooooh he has a pretty business card, let's book him for the wedding

some people spend too much time on the insignificant details of the business

that being said, congrats and good luck on the business

I think 2, then 4. 1 and 3 I find a little cheesy, but I never like those fonts.

True, but the business card is something that will be given usually after talking with someone...and the design of the website will be similar and will showcase actual images and works. The website is what I count on to sell my product, the business card is what will be a reminder for people to go take a look at the website.

I like things simple and to the point as well...the card is not overly flashy or anything...just has the basic info you need with a little flair. Took about 2 hours to do (most of that was pouring over the 1250 or so fonts I have

btw, I meant cheesy for the art industry, only because its common. 2 and 4 feel more modern to me, but maybe you're not going for modern.

Yeah 2 and 4 are based off of modern typefaces

I like the font on #1 best.

I like the overall design, but I think you should put a phone number and maybe address on it as well. A phone number for sure. I realize you'll probably have that on your web site, but remember that some people may not be much for computers and would like to just be able to call up and ask questions.

For most people the first thing they think when considering a photographer is whether or not they'll be available when they need them, a quick phone call will take care of that and if they've got some other people's numbers right there in front of them they may call them up first and get talked into making a decision before they even get to looking at your web site.

Edit: Oops, ignore the above. I just realized that the Xs are your phone number. When I first looked I was thinking that was where your web site address was going to be.
