Looking for a multifunction printer/scanner/copier in the $100-150 range. My wife wants to use it to scan books, and papers, as well as make transparencies (she's a teacher). Also would help to have a document loader so it's easier to copy the 15 page papers students turn in. Anyone have any suggestions?

Canon PIXMA MP750 All-in-One Photo Inkjet Printer = $129.99, FREE shipping.

Samsung SCX-4100 Laser Multifunction Printer = $135.00 AR, FREE shipping. (no feeder on this one)

If she is going to be printing out long documents often, go with the Laser. For scanning in long documents often, go with the Inkjet and the 35-page Auto-feeder.

If you want, you can take a further $30 off of either price by signing up for a buy.com or amazon.com Visa. You'll get more details at the checkout on those links.

Good luck! :beer::D

Ended up with the Canon PIXMA MP750, but paid a lot more ($199.99). She needed it like yesterday pretty much, so I couldn't wait for it to be delivered. Oh well, she paid for it with her teaching money, and she's happy.

good choice, about the only thing comparable, would be the hp 6210, and a lot of people don't like the hp ink system. IMO, as long as you didn't go with brother, you made the right decision.

Yea, it's a pretty sweet printer. I have it hooked to a wireless print server, so I could put it wherever. When I need to use the scanner--which isn't that often--I can just take the laptop to it and plug it up directly.
