I'm looking to get a little better bass in a '98 Cavalier than the 6x9s can do. I don't want something really loud, just enough to give my system that little extra ooomph! What do you guys think of an amplified 6" Bazooka Bass Tube. Please don't suggest that I get some 10's and an amp. I just don't want to have the hassle and use up all the space. Thanks.

a nice pair of 6x9's in the rear deck would beat harder than 6 inch bazooka tube :)

I already have some Cerwin Vega 6x9s and they're good, but they seem to be lacking something in the lower frequencies.
What about an 8" or a 10" Bazooka Tube?

Bazooka tubes are suck, i'm speaking from exerience. Poor sound quality, and has about as much bass as a tweeter.

I mean they're alright if that's all you want. A little bass. But not if you're going for deep boomy bass. I guess it'll do for now. Until you decide to upgrade to some "REAL" subs. :D

I've listened to both the amplified and non-amplified Bazooka's and have to say if you get one, buy the one without the amp. That built-in amp is just weak compared to a decent amp bridged mono. But since you don't want to go thru the hassle of setting something up, then I guess you've already answered your question.
IMO I think Bazooka's are a waste of money. They just didn't sound good when I listened to them. This was in a professionally installed demo car with a trunk. If you're really looking for more bass, then go with a prefab box and sub you can get at Circuit City and have them install an amp for it too.

If set up properly an 8" Bazooka is actually pretty good. Go to Circuit City and ask them for an in-car demo w/ a Bazooka. The only problem w/ the Bazooka that I've seen is their limited power handling---it's pretty easy to drive them into clipping.

The whole reason I wanted a small setup was so that it would't be that loud out of the car! I just wanted to have the low frequencies in my car.

See if they still make "bass shakers" - I think that is the name of them.

They attach to the underside of your seats and are small.

They vibrate your seats for the feeling of low frequencies.
