Been having trouble burning burned cd's and i think its because of my cd rom, which is a kenwood true 42x. I've heard problems about them before, but never really cared because it worked fine for the last couple of years i've had it. but now i just got a burner and it wont read have the cd's i put in to burn... so can you guys recomend a good cd rom, or a cd rom that wont give me the same problems as the kenwood is... was thinking about a creative but wanna hear wha ya guys out there think 🙂 thanks

You can give the 42X a final judgement by opening it up and then cleaning all the moving parts and at the same time the lens (use swab and alcohol). If it's still the same, get a new one. I had the same problem with my car CD so I decided to open it up and clean all the moving parts including glide tracks and the lens. Guess what? It works like new!
