Seriously, imagine a very cool, stylish FlexATX box like those BookPC's but with room for 1 or 2 PCI cards fit sideways (or not, almost unnecessary.)
Very small, cool, efficient system with good graphics and sound, onboard LAN (possibly modem)... nice all-in-one box for just about anything. Great LAN-gaming box to pop under your arm.. 🙂

Just a thought, in light of systems like the Shuttle SV24 becoming rather popular. Something like that with an Nforce instead of Savage4... 😛

Just soak your current motherboard in water for an hour, and they it will get soft and you can bend it without breaking to whatever shape you want!

I remember when those keyboard PCs were brand new! Man those were cool... reminded me of my early computing days with the TI99 4/a and Tandy 1000 EX/HX machines. 🙂 Others too, like the Commodore64, Vic20, Amiga500, etc, etc....

Now one of THOSE with an nForce subsystem for graphics and sound and you've got it MADE! Oh I'd love that.... [drool]
 
I've really gotten to thinking... that would make the ultimate portable machine, short of a laptop...
the larger keyboard is far better for typing, however, and has the option of either a PCI card OR an optical drive...
One of those based on an nForce would be so cool to walk into a LAN party with. 🙂 As far as useful goes, the CasperII mini-case with 4 full-sized expantion slots or a flex-style "BookPC" or similar with 2 standard PCI on a riser would be more expandable.

If one could make a keyboard all-in-one unit juuuust a bit larger to house an optical drive AND 1 PCI card and still have onboard everything (56k modem and/or LAN, GF2MX video, 5.1 audio, TV out, USB 2.0, maybe eve firewire...)
That would just plain rock. 🙂

EDIT: I remember a series of laptops during the 386/486 era that housed a full-sized ISA slot.... it could be MOST practical to have what could best be described as a Large Laptop. One with a standard PCI slot (or two!) and a GOOD sized keyboard. It'd be 10 pounds for sure, but I'd do it to have a REAL machine I could take anywhere easily. Like a lunchbox system but with a 15" LCD.
 
I was going to try building a Briefcase/toolkit box- I've got enough spare parts to build with a KM133 board, but the overall performance hits I take by using that are too disapointing- I'll sell the KM133 setup, use my "ill gotten gains" for Nforce & DDr
 
Start with a microATX board, of course. 3PCI and 1AGP should be MORE than enough, considering all the goodies onboard!
