I just bought this D-Link DI624 Rev. C:

I bought it at Costco, so before I open it, I wanted to get some opinions on this product, I'll be hooking up my cable/4mb, hardwired to my rig and my new Lappy W/Wireless. I do light gaming with the pc, but the wife will use the Lappy mostly for browsing and work apps, also once installed, how can I prevent others in the area using wireless from "leeching"?

Thanx!

Mine randomly and repeatedly resets itself about once every two weeks. This lasts about 1-5 minutes, rebooting every 10-15 seconds. It's wonderful.

It also has great range (60% signal from upstairs, 30% signal 100 yards away through two other condos) and not bad speeds (averages 15 Mbps LAN transfer rate in G mode with non-G devices on my network).

The Wireless question about security is easy, may be this can Help.

The Hardware?

The D-Link is Not bad for the price. However it seems that there are unites that slips through QA (If there is a QA).

Costco is good about returns.

So open it up neatly and carefully and try. If it does not work well you know the way back to Costco.

Thanx for the input guys, I got it hooked up, the rig and lappy seem to be running fine........it did everything automatically, but I cant find the settings tab or antyhing so I can setup privacy, etc.......is it done thru D-Link's website?

The security setting has to be set in the Router.

Log to the Router Menu and look for the Wireless Security.

The same settings have to be put in the Client Wireless.

D-Link provides a Utility that help in the setting, Run it on the Wireless Computer.
