Opinion on Video Card

Looking to spend about $100 - $150 on a semi decent video card.

Came across ATI Radeon 9600 Pro

and

eVGA NVIDIA GeForce FX5700LE

Are those good cards for the money? Also can I trust PowerColor and eVGA?? Those trustworthy companies or am I going to get shafted? Thanks guys!

Also, I'm always up for suggestions

I just bought an Elsa "FALCOX 960X" for $153 from newegg. Its a Radeon 9600XT. Its got Video in and video out as well.

Don't go for the 5700LE. Its not nearly as fast as the 9600 Pro/XT. If you look on newegg, you can get a 9600XT for around 100$. Its the best bang for non-hardcore-gamer buck. I only play games occasionally, so this was an excellent bargain for me. But if you play a lot of games, spend 200$ and get the Geforce 6600GT.

Try getting one off of eBay if you're interested in getting an ATI Radeon OEM 9800 Pro or XT. Watched some get a remanufactured one for less than a $100 (which the company will also service if something goes wrong with it -- which is nice since the 9800 is at the end of it's service life [at least with ATI], and service for it is a plus instead of forking over another $100+ for a new card).

I say try to get a 9800 Pro even tho it is now considered "entry level" by most PC game magazines it is still a great card and has plenty of life left in it. I have one and play all the latest games with it and have no issues whatsoever. You could find a good deal in the for sale forums here on Anand or at newegg or ebay i'm sure.

eVGA is a great company, but all nVidia FX cards are horrible failures. Well... they work, but they're not worth the money you'd spend on them. At that price, I'd say try to find a Radeon 9800 Pro.
