Hi,

This is my first time putting together a PC build. I'm trying to build something that will run games such as Battlefield 4 on near max (if not max) settings. My goal is around 1,000 USD and this is what I've come up with so far.

Everything that is missing is standard equipment, (I.E. Blu-Ray Player, etc). Any advice someone more experienced could give me would be great or feel free to shoot me a build of your own.

I appreciate any help you can offer! Thanks.

If it's only for gaming you probably won't need 16GB of RAM. You could cut it back to 8GB and try a more powerful video card like a GTX 760 or 770.

What resolution are you aiming for?

Also, be aware that Battlefield 4 right now really likes cores. You are going to see heavy CPU usage, possibly FPS limiting, if you go with a CPU without hyperthreading (like the 4770K). It's been better with the last few patches, but I see much higher CPU usage with my 4 threads than anytime I've seen an 8 thread processor.

Mantle might make this a moot point (haven't tried it myself), as might DX12 - but you arent looking at an AMD card and DX12 isn't going to be around anytime soon.

For resolution, I'm assuming 1080p is fine.

As for the RAM, that's a good suggestion. I'll take a look at it.

What about less intensive games like Guild Wars 2 or even WoW at max settings? Would that CPU and graphics card work fine for that?

4 phase board (that's how it looks to me) seems a bit wimpy IMO. You're buying a K processor so presumably you intend to overclock it.

You may want to consider buying some of your components used, you can save quite a bit.
