for around $60 you can pick up logitech z3e's on newegg. much better sound quality than the 530's except there 2.1 vs 530's 5.1 config. id go with the z3e

Speakers are overated :) get a headset some reasons why

1. you can listen to it as loud as you want
2. small
3. portable
4. very very easy to understand where someone is coming from left or right side improves you skills in games
5. cheap

Yeah, I've also got the X-530's and i picked em up on sale (which they happen to be quite often) for only $45 CDN!

They're great I think personally, and would NOT hesitiate to reccomend them again..

Not to mention Logitech's RMA's are one of the best in the business

I was just shopping for speakers myself and I must say that these "cheapo" 5.1s really don't sound better than a good 2.1 setup. The most impressive speakers that I've heard were the Logitech Z-2300s. If I only had that extra $50 to add to my budget...

The Logitechs Z-2300swere heads and shoulders above the rest of the speakers that they sold(circuitcity)

Very very good sound for what you pay. They certainly won't compare to Klipch's, but for $50, they can't be beat.

Do you know if you're using a soundcard or integrated sound?

If you know your motherboard, you should be able to look up the integrated sound it uses if that's what you're using.

Same. I bought Logitech's 2.1 setup a couple years ago (don't remember the model #) for around $50 and I've been really happy with them.

Well, that's what you have then.

You could benefit from a soundcard, but a good one is going to cost you about as much as the speakers cost.
