Opetron and ATI X1800 XT heating up

Hi there!
I've got AMD Opetron 170 and ATI Radeon X1800XT and temperature is above melting point on both. I shoudn't be relying on Thermaltake Venus 12 and integrated ATI fan. What should I buy. I've an eye on Thermaltake Bigwater SE LIQUID COOLING SYSTEM. But is that compatible with AMD Opetron socket 939 and how to cool down ATI X1800XT card? Please help, otherwise I'm dead!!🙁

What temps are being displayed?

Water cooling is an extreme way to lower your temps, you could get better after market air coolers for cheaper.

Agreed, although if you do go watercooling DON'T get the Bigwater. It's not that great of a kit compared to spending a little more for a decent H2O setup.

Do you have adequete flow through your case? What case and fan arrangement do you have?

Look through the Cases and Cooling section for threads about good A64 coolers. There are a ton of them (posts that is). To name a few: XP-120, SI-120, XP-90, Scythe Ninja, Big Typhoon, Zalman 9500, etc.

For the X1800XT, have you tried turning up the fan speed at all? Seems like default it's only running at ~50% from what I've read.

I've Antec Performance One P160W
http://www.antec.com/us/productDetails.php?ProdID=81602
that comes with Two BIG exhaust fans and nice ventelated

About video card, is there anything that would increase fan speed??
But really, I'm confused. Watercooling to me seems like a good solution but I may be wrong because I've never used it. Plus my budget now is max $125. I can return noisy Thermaltake Venus 12 CPU Fan though which could give me $40 some bucks. Now I like the casing, I like my true power 550 watts power supply, and if you check the link for the case, it is decent too. I need a big favor, that is your advice. What solution do I have that would give me a silent setup of cooling covering CPU (Opetron 170) and GPU (ATI X1800XT) Please please please help, I've no clue and and so confused looking every where for a proper solution. 🙁 P L E A S E H E L P ! ! !

Only consider water cooling if you are willing to drop $200+, and stay away from Thermaltake.

For the CPU, check out the XP-90 or SI-120. For the x1800XT, the Zalman VF-700 or Thermalright V-1.

It died!
When I start computer after it completely froze and shutdown, I tuned it on, and lines all over the screen. Image were fuzzy and destorted. So I went out, replaced the ATI with another. I tried Zalman Reserator 1 Plus, installed properly and perfectly, but still temp was way high. Found a Danger Den Maze4 Power cooling kit. Installed that slowly and carefully according to he video which came along. All the piping were prefectly tightened and secure as it should. Start filling the reservoir and thing just start leaking. Tried to force the clamps and stopped leaking and dried coolant spilled on devices. As I turned on the PC, wooof and it died. I got so upset. Next day, went to the store, returned the ASUS A8N-MVP board and ATI X1800 XT card and bought GeForce 7800 GT with ASUS SLI premium baord which I'm going to install. Cooling will be from Zalman CNPS9500LED CPU Fan and NV5 Silencer to cool down CPU and GPU. Lets see... :brokenheart:

Man, you talk hecticly... 😛 Seems like you did the job in two minutes... There was probably another way out, one that would have saved your gear...
