There are a lot of people in this world who think that you can do wrong in the service of right, that the ends justify the means. It's kind of why we have laws, so people don't go out and make up their own. When the stakes are great, when the belief system is fanatical, the temptation is profound. The reason we need leaders of sophistication and real character is so they can overcome that kind of temptation. In this case Kennedy seems to have. In other cases he failed miserably. We aren't a perfect people by any stretch of the imagination. What we have are too many secret organizations working in the dark for 'our best interests' We the people are the ones who are supposed to determine what is in our best interests. We are drifting away from the light into darkness when we let the government function in secret, when it decides it's in our best interest that we don't know. This government was conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal. There is no weapon in the world greater than that. It is only small minds who cannot trust that weapon to ultimate victory and plot their sick little plots to win by thieft, cunning and disguise. We will stand or fall by how well we model what we preach. One needs only faith in truth. The truth can't be defeated.
Was Operation Northwood ,if it even ever really existed, ever implemented?
