Woo! I put a Rockford Fosgate RFX-9400 MP3 deck in my car today (thanks Marlin1975!). It was my first attempt at putting in my own stereo. Much, much MUCH easier than I had planned. I think I owe it greatly to the fact that Toyota has their crap together when it comes to removing the stock head unit. It was cake.

I can finally listen to something besides the radio now. Weeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!

Next up...Operation rumble trunk heheehehehe 😀

next thing you know there will be cold cathode hanging off the bottom of that car and you're not going to be sure how you got there

I'm probably going to install a CD player in my car (1998 Corolla)...but I don't really want to spend the money on an MP3 unit - but then again, 10 hours on one CD would be really nice...decisions, decisions...

I've got a VW passat wagon and the camry.

The camry is my beater car. It's got 116k on clock and runs like a top. I've put 5,000 miles on it in 2.5 months. I need a high milage beater to run into the ground.

My head unit cost me $220 shipped. I bought it new in box from Marlin1975 in the FS/T forums. I also dropped $11 for a wiring harness for it.
