...and it still stands up! I can't believe I still love this album. I haven't listened to it in over 10 years and I pulled it out last weekend. Pleasantly surprised with its staying power.

rock opera ftw

Great concept album. I saw them on tour for Mindcrime 2 and the first set was Mindcrime in its entirey followed by Mindcrime 2. Of course I left right after the first set. 😉

Yes, this is one great album. I'm glad when my .mp3 playlist hits an O:MC song... However, the rest of Queensryche stuff doens't have the same staying power, and I usually have to skip over it now.

Excellent album. Not a single bad song on it, and The Mission, Suite Sister Mary, and I Don't Believe in Love are perfect.

Good art is timeless.
Music is art.
Thus, Good music is timeless.

The age of the music doesn't matter.
Be it 1, 10, or 100 years old, if the music is truly good, it will stand the test of time.

Cheers!

Elated to see this thread as this is one of my all time favorite cds ever. Just a masterpiece that can be enjoyed from beginning to end. I really loved this album.

The bad part is that the band will always be stuck with having this "GODLIKE" cd that they will never ever compete with again. Must be horrible 🙂

I saw them with a buddy of mine recently and they played the entire O:MC set from beginning to end. The scary part was me remembering every damned word as if I were Geoff Tate himself.

We chatted post show and came to the conclusion that queensryche had hit the nail on the head "Outstanding Concert"

O: MC Fan checkking in! 🙂

The only other album they did that I can listen to forever is Empire.

I recently saw the @ House Of Blues in Orlando - and they rocked!

The new guitarist that replaced Chris DeGarmo is his old guitar tuner, he was excellent.

everything before Here in the Now Frontier (i think thats what its called) is good. HITNF has like one good song.

Great Album! My Mindcrime CD is signed by all the members. Queensryche did an in-store appearance in my town on that tour (opening for Metallica). They were really nice guys - seemed down to earth and generally happy to talk to fans.

I didn't know there was an MFSL version - gotta go find that!

Great album. My favorite song would have to be Eyes of a Stranger.

I too think this is the best song on the disk. I wasn't always though. Suite Sister Mary was my original fav and then one day I got hooked on "eyes of a Stranger"

As far as other disks from them. I really liked the entire "Empire" cd. That disc is completely different but anther Masterpiece IMHO. C'mon now "Jet City Woman" just cannot be played loud enough 🙂

but.....

after that disc they fell right off a cliff as if the magic wand that helped produce the 2 wonders before was just completely gone.

and....

O:MC2 is a steaming pile. I have forced it through my headphones about 3 times. Generally I can warm up to a disc if I don't like it. This one I cannot. It is just not good.
