The name that is. According to the BBC, the military brass got the name from the Islamic belief that only God can provide infinite justice. Many people will imply that we are acting as God. This will only inflame the Muslims (and some other monotheists) that we are against them. Bad choice of words.

So what. It's our language; not theirs. "Oooh, I'm a liberal, I don't want to offend the enemy!"

I don't think it's political correctness, they just don't want to turn every muslim on the planet against us.

I really dislike the name of the operation. It's like a bad comic book, it's laughable, this very serious situation should have a very serious name. Operation Mongoose, Operation COUNTERSTRIKE, anything but Infinite Justice. I mean whos bad idea was that anyways? I'm NOT criticizing the gov, I support them fully, but the name stinks!

Yeah, but there's plenty of Muslims in the US...around the world...who are supporting us...I wouldn't do it...just like during the Gulf War, we wouldn't strike on Ramadan

After hearing the lame name, I did some research to figure out how they come up with this crap. I found a VERY funny quote:

Despite the Pentagon's best efforts, some less-than-perfect names still slip through.
According to Bob Woodward's 1991 book The Commanders, two key military leaders debated the name for the 1989 operation to oust Manuel Noriega from power in Panama.
``Do you want your grandchildren to say you were in Blue Spoon?'' one asked. Instead, they chose Operation Just Cause, and it became a punch line: ``Why did the United States invade Panama? Just 'cause.''
``I was kind of amused by Just Cause,'' said Dr. van Tuyll of Augusta State. ``We were mad at a foreign country and we invaded it.''

the paper in which i read about titling the operation "Infinite Justice" said that the name was tentative... of course, i'm pretty sure the paper was USA Today, which can walk a fine line between sensationalism and journalistic neutrality...

"Oooh, I'm an idiot. I can't comprehend that we're fighting terrorists, not a religion."

I second that, without the "idiot" part. People can comprehend it, but they may need help doing so; help in the form of information, not attacks against their intelligence.
