operation flashpoint

anyone played this yet? It's totally cool! Yea, it's *completely* full of bugs, and seriously needs patching, but it's a really good start! Now they need to develop a dedicated server for linux and some bug fixes and it will be *the shiznit*. I want to do some gaming when I get home in about 5 or 6 hours, so anyone who has it, and lives in the central US, and might like to play tonight, give me a shout!.

I was so disappointed with that game, I was hoping it would be as good as Project IGI which in my opinion was the best of it's genre. It would have been good 5 yrs ago.

Bugs??? does walking through walls count?

i believe theres a win2k patch out, and yeah i walked through a couple walls too (and died, the damn thing was one-way!, lol) The demo was pretty rough, but this game really grows on you fast, especially if you have friends that play, and use the map editor! Seriously, this game has alot of potential...

Hey, that's a feature. Probably the best feature in the game, when the enemy thinks your behind the building, just walk through the wall and surprise them from inside.

BTW has anybody played Emperor:Battle for Dune??? Damn, I just love this game now. Can't stop playing this sh*t. It's like the SC of the future, SC is so played out now and those damn battle.net cheaters suck d*ck.

Also got Fallout Tactics, great game but I wish they would make a Fallout 3 or an expansion or something

i just beat Operation Flashpoint yestarday...

I also have Battle for Dune. Its a lot like Red Alert, since its from westwood. I stopped playing it since I got Operation Flashpoint. i'll jump on it again

OMG! your kidding right? Project IGI sucked major butt. The AI were retarded and all the missions were held in a simple base. Wow, thats it. Everything looked the same except the missions were different but the houses and all the structures stayed the same. Operation Flashpoint is so awesome. I have the full version and I just finished the campaign and I couldnt be happier...wow....

Yes the chars were UGLY and the AI was dumb, but the guns were mad ill and realistic except for the AK-47 which looked like crap. I still enjoyed that game, ya'll need 2 play more Fallout:Tactics and Emperor: Battle for Dune, hehe.

Yea, I actually liked IGI, hehe. Everybody says it sucks, I guess I just like it cause of the action. Any game with guns I like. Dune is really good, probably Westwoods best game, next to Blade Runner of course. Diablo II, I bought that and havent played since I got 2 Chapter 2, I just hate the point and click aspect. Other than that I cant wait for Max Payne and all those other games that are coming out in the next few months.

I loved Project IGI. But I am sad to say that I never finished it. After restarting the final mission for the millionth time, I realized I no longer wanted to play it over... One time I killed Eck, but didn't last the five seconds neccesary to get to the end credits... grrrrrrrr....


The lack of a save function ruined that game.

IGI could have been cool. But it wasn't... I played through the first half or so, and got bored with it. I think OFP could just get me off my CS addiction (which has gotten alot better with the summer sunshine, but it still keeps me awake at night, shivering... and drinking too much beer)

Cause Dune is way different, ok it's point and click. But you have to build units and stuff and you have to think before you make an attack, etc.
It's not just click monster, run around, drink potion and all that, hehe
