Operation Flashpoint - Arma

Anyone played or are still playing either of these two games? Both series have another game coming out this year and I was curious about the preceding games, are they worth picking up? Thanks.

Operation Flashpoint was one of my favorite FPS's. It is very realistic though, so when you get shot, you are either crippled to the point where you will bleed to death in a few minutes, or you die instantly. The enemy AI is generally retarded as well. But the game itself has great atmosphere, and is a lot of challenge.

It is pretty much a war simulator, and it does that pretty well. I wish that I didn't lose the CD's a few years ago, because I have been wanting to play it again.

OFP with the Resistance add on is one of the greatest shooters i have played. Even though its rough around the edges (AI especially) the game oozes with atmosphere and immersion.

Highly recommended.

Arma is realistic enough, but it has a shite story and lacks the overall character of the original.

Yup, OFP is a great tactical shooter... definitely recommended. I think it won 'Game of the Year' back in 2001.

Just finished playing the campaign, some things are frustrating, but in general, pretty good to great, especially some SF missions. Arma Gold package is definitely worth 10 bucks, and on newer system it looks pretty good with very high visual quality setting.
