Moonbeam, interestingly enough, I agree with you. I don't think this "armed might" move originates from the military. It's a "let's show the rest of Iraq what can happen if they decide to get frisky" move. The military can crush opposed armed forces. It's a very poor tool for political conversion -- and I've known very, very many military people who think the same.

In the sand box you learn to say stuff like pee pee pants and I'm gonna crush you with an iron hammer. Naturally it was the bright kids who went for the latter. Kids like Bush. Sure he's bright for a two year old, come on.
