A new, refreshed interface looks better on your device and gives Opera Mini a sleek, modern appearance. Pinch zoom and smooth panning let you surf in a natural and intuitive way. You can also share web content with others on popular social networks.

Opera Mini is the ultimate browser for browsing on slow Internet connections or while paying per megabyte of data used.

What's in this version:

1. Pinch zoom
2. Improved panning and zooming performance
3. New UI optimized for tablets
4. Refreshed user interface
5. Share
6. Open Link in Background
7. Better Font Support, now supports Arabic and Thai
8. Lots of fixes relating to text entry and auto-completion
9. Start up time has been improved
10. You can now choose to hide and show both the Status and Navigation bars via Tools -> Settings
11. Back key behavior has been improved

Good for those on AT&T or that have capped data. Can you set it as the default browser?

Might have to check it out, wasn't very impressed with previous version. I love Opera on desktop but couldn't find the appeal of the mobile versions even though they are the most popular.

Even better, Opera Mobile 11 is out, with tabbed browsing, pinch zoom, and text reflow. Posting from my Nokia N8. We now have a better browser than the iphone

Not drastically smoother when my Captivate runs at 800MHz or above, but it's nice at 600MHz. Flash support didn't seem to improve over stock browser but it's nice to have. HTML5 support is better than nothing at stock though, so that's a welcome addition.

Now if only they would fix that dreaded font rendering technique...

Excellent, Opera Mobile has now just about supplanted Miren as my daily driver. Only issue is the cursor is super slow with the optical trackpad.

lol. ive seen people say this on hofo many times from opera 8, 9, 10, and now 11, but i think the answer simply is the symbian browser sucks ass. my n82 and n97 agree. but perhaps the n8 has a better version, but... i still highly doubt that it's anywhere close to say Android or iOS.

i have to agree on Opera Mobile 11. having played with both opera 6 and mobile 11 on my android, mobile 11 can play flash directly in browser, e.g., youtube. opera 6 doesn't load flash. pinch/zoom works fine on mobile 11 for me as well. im sticking with mobile 11 now.

Went to market to grab Opera again and phone flipped out. Should have it downloaded though at some point and will give it a go tomorrow at work.

I gave up on Opera after Dolphin Mini came out, maybe I'll give it another whirl, but with Dolphin still going strong as well as Firefox being released, it'd have to wow me.

I'm talking about Opeara Mobile 11 on Symbian. It's competitive with what I've seen on Android, and with text reflow, blows away the iphone browser.

One thing that's nice about the Opera Mobile browser for Android is how smooth it is.

Try opening up the XDA forums in Dolphin, the stock browser or any other of the browsers based on Android's built-in webkit renderer. You'll find it choppy and slow to scroll.

Firefox and Opera are the only two that can scroll it smoothly. However, Firefox loads up the scrolling segments slower than Opera does and you get the checkerboard blank spots way more than with Opera.

Now that Opera Mobile also supports flash, there's almost no reason to use the other browsers.

Dolphin HD has been crashing on my all the time so I switched to Dolphin Mini. But Opera Mobile is my backup. They're both good in their own ways.

So, I downloaded Opera Mini and it is a freaking rocket. My co-worker and I both have Fascinates and he choose a website that he had stored in cache with Dolphin Mini and I loaded it up with Opera Mini. Despite it being cached for his phone and having lots of pictures it took under 4 seconds to completely load on Mini and maybe 6-7 to load on Dolphin, both of us were on 3G. Wowsah...

I still like the layout of Dolphin more and I'll probably use it more often, but they've definitely got the speed things down with Opera.

I'll give Moblie 11 a whirl when I get home later.

Ok, looks like I'll try this one. The previous versions didn't really impress.

The Android browser that gets the most raves is Miren (the MIUI browser), but I'm a little paranoid about the "closed source from China" aspect of MIUI.

Ok I definitely like Opera mobile now. Is there a way to hide the bottom bar? That is my only issue I see.

It's in the settings. Turn off the Navigation bar and it'll auto-hide (sometimes only when you scroll a bit).

Opera 11 is pretty nice. I really appreciate pinch-zoom.

Honestly though, I have become hooked on Firefox Mobile's interface. But Opera just replaced Dolphin as my "I need to look at some random Flash site" browser.
